Damian Allen

Damian Allen is the Founder of Pixerati LLC and the CEO of TumplePlay. As a visual effects artist, Allen remains immersed in the process of visual effects work, supervising teams of up to 30 compositors, as well as having direct hands on shots in tentpole features. He specializes in picture lock emergencies and is frequently called in to fix last minute stereoscopic and cosmetic issues.


Allen has authored/co-authored four books on the subject of visual effects: Fusion Visual Effects with DaVinci Resolve 15 (2019),  The Encyclopedia of Visual Effects (2006), Shake Quick Reference Guide (2005), and Apple ProTraining Series Motion (2004). He has lectured around the world on visual effects compositing theory and practical application. He has also served as a professor on fxphd.com.


Allen’s current focus is the development of new hardware and software platforms for the animation industry, leveraging the emerging fields of VR, AR, and machine learning.
