About this Course:

This course covers the scene lighting workflow using Maya, V-Ray, Arnold, and Nuke. Over the course of 8 weeks, the participant will apply various light typologies and gain competency in designing volumetric and atmospheric effects.

About Our Faculty:

Fred Durand is the Co-Founder of Noroc Studio, which is a digital effects company based in France. For the past 22 years, he has worked on animated films, feature films, and commercials in major animation and VFX studios such as, Sony Imageworks, Disney Animation, DreamWorks, Jim Henson’s Workshop, The Mill, MPC and Digital Domain.

For the past 22 years, he has worked on animated films, feature films, and commercials in major animation and VFX studios such as, Sony Imageworks, Disney Animation, DreamWorks, Jim Henson’s Workshop, The Mill, MPC and Digital Domain. 


Fred is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale des Arts Decoratifs (ENSAD) in Paris, France. Additionally, he was awarded and completed a one year student exchange appointment at Cooper Union in NYC during his Masters program.
